ECRS Receives SIGIS-TPS Certification Enabling Independent Pharmacies to Streamline SIGIS Certification Application Process
BOONE, NC – March 17, 2009 - Point-of-sale provider, ECR Software Corporation (ECRS) has received Third Party Servicer (TPS) certification from the Special Interest Group for IIAS Standards (SIGIS).
ECRS’ recognition as a SIGIS-certified TPS allows independent pharmacies to streamline the IIAS-certification process. Pharmacies must achieve IIAS-certification through SIGIS in order to accept Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards after July 1, 2009 according to IRS law. The ECRS IIAS-enabled point-of-sale solution, CATAPULT™, allows pharmacies to accept FSA cards in full compliance with IRS regulations.
As defined by SIGIS, a TPS is a company that develops and operates inventory management and point-of-sale (POS) for merchant customers. Customers of TPS-certified companies are provided an easier path to IIAS-certification through electronic enrollment.
To become certified as a TPS, ECRS completed technical testing and submitted an in-depth application to SIGIS for review and approval. Certification is only awarded to those companies who meet SIGIS criteria and provide inventory management, POS transaction processing and payment card processing to clients.
