ECRS and Catapult Automate Byron Nelson Championship for Fourth Year Running
 Dear ECRS:
I just wanted to thank you personally for your involvement in our Championship and for your assistance with providing Epson hardware and ECRS software and support. We had unbelievable sales for the week – just shy of our $1 million goal.
As you know, the EDS Byron Nelson Championship has been enjoying the benefits of the Catapult point-of-sale software system since 2003. By incorporating this automated retail software system into our on-site merchandise shops, our operations have noticeably improved through the use of the bar coding/touch screen features and excellent reporting capabilities which have provided us with accuracy of sales, quick checkout, historical sales, and inventory trends. Being a five day event with over 250,000 in attendance, accuracy and time are of the essence.
It’s amazing that Catapult tracks so much information, and has so many features, yet it’s so simple to use. Since our tournament staffs through a volunteer database, the learning curve must be minimal. Our volunteers attend a 30-minute training session and are comfortable using the system within an hour of starting. The terminals are fast, keeping the customer’s wait in line to a minimum. The inventory and sales reports have allowed us to make important decisions on items and departments that need to be enhanced or eliminated. Catapult's reports also give us the information we need to schedule appropriate hourly staffing.
Given today’s latest technology, we ventured into the next logical expansion of our retail environment by integrating Catapult’s electronic gift card redemption program. We really appreciate having a robust solution that did not require us to rent any special equipment or pay usage fees. This software has made gift card processing a breeze and made great strides in improving our tournament’s day to day cashier operations. Because we operate five on-site stores with a total of 18 POS terminals, we also added the additional benefit of incorporating a multistore, networked environment to incorporate this gift card feature. All stores transmitted gift card data back and forth from a centrally located file server with out a single hiccup. 
Again, I must commend the efforts of Texas Cash Register. Their team is a fabulous group of folks to work with and they are central to the success of our CATAPULT system.
