ECRS has an immediate opening on its Development Team for an experienced Java Software Developer.

Job Summary

ECR Software develops and implements a full range of technologies that power many of the world’s retail automation systems. The ECRS Development Group is looking for a Java Software Engineer for its operations in Boone, NC and Greenville, SC. The ECRS Development Team is dedicated to meeting the expectations of over 13,000 external customers and to continue to create world-class products from within a dynamic, modern environment.

This is a full-time position with a competitive base salary. Responsibilities include design, code, code review, and unit testing of new functional enhancements to our existing product line and products under development. Software/standards research and documentation as necessary. The Software engineer will write/work from functional and design specifications for new functionality, work with the manager to specify project milestones, implement new functionality, extend existing functionality, execute tests and verify results on all supported platforms in order to meet project objectives. Would also need to work with customers to understand requirements and develop specs and plans to achieve committed deliverables.

Requirements

Skills needed: Standalone Java applications and OO design and development, SQL, JDBC, event-driven and multithreaded applications, RMI, Swing, XML, JMX. Working knowledge in schema, JAXB, JMS, JNDI, JSP, Servlets, SOAP, Webstart, serialization, and classloaders is highly desirable. Requires strong communications and problem solving/analytical skills, along with strong team work, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Candidates must currently reside in or around or be willing to relocate to the Boone, NC or Greenville, SC metropolitan area.
